Floral waters and their uses
Floral water, also called hydrosol is a byproduct of:
Distillation – the process of obtaining the essential oils.The hydrosols are similar to the e ssential oils but have a much, much lower co n c entration (in fact they are particles of essential oil mixed with particles of water from the steam in the distillation process) and they ar e soluble in water. You u nderstood that, right? Due to the fact that a hydrosol contains mostly water, they can be used without additional precaution measures (there is no need for diluting them as in the case of the essential oils). Be careful! A hydrosol is not the same thing as a mixture of water and essential oil so before you buy them, research their source of origin and the method used to obtain them. So, what do we use floral waters for?
-
Skin – the floral water is an excellent toner. At the same time it acts very well in the spots, cuts, solar burns, scars, chickenpox treatments etc. (lavender, tea-tree, chamomile);
-
After-shave – it helps a lot in preventing rashes and growing hair under the skin (sandalwood, tea-tree, lavender);
-
Refreshing spray – it is a true oasis in the summertime if held in a spray container and applied on the face and the body. Besides the fact that it cools it also leaves behind a delicate perfume (peppermint, rose, geranium); Clothes – before wearing clothes which have been sitting in the closet for too long, pulverize the floral water you prefer and refresh them in no time or add it to the rinsing water when washing clothes as an alternative to synthetic rinsing products;
-
Colds and flu – some people avoid using essential oils in vaporizers when they have a cold because they seem too strong and they choose hydrosols as an alternative;
-
Creams and lotions – they are used in the home making of creams and lotions due to their curative properties and the pleasant smell they radiate;
-
Hair and scalp treatments – after you washed your hair, pulverize rosemary floral water and massage lightly. It helps tone the scalp and prevents the apparition of dandruff;
-
Tired eyes – if you don’t sleep at night or if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer, pulverize roman chamomile floral water on a cotton disk and press lightly for 10 minutes;
-
Preparing home-made perfumes: This is my favorite part of the aromatherapy that I will be developing on this blog. Until then, I will keep you all in suspense.
As additional information, the hydrosols on the market must not contain any other ingredient besides themselves, meaning the Latin name of the plant they have been obtained from. As much as possible, try using bio floral waters, because what is certain is sure

The role of the chemical macro elements
NITROGEN
The nitrogen in the plant is the fundamental element with a plastic role of construction in the structure of plants. It is found in the form of protein combinations, amino acids, nucleic acids, chlorophyll etc.
The lack of nitrogen leads to ceasing the growth of plants, and the excess nitrogen makes the planned sensitive to falling, diseases, drought of frost. The plants use nitrogen in proportion of 25 to 60%. If the application of this fertilizer is rational, then the plants can use up to 60% of the nitrogen in the soil (the reserve in the soil, the nitrogen fixed by bacteria, the nitrogen in rain falls, the nitrogen from fertilizers, and the nitrogen left behind by the plants debris, the nitrogen from the manure). The losses are due to erosion and washing, leaching and denitrification.
The rest of the information and explanations for fertilizers are available on the Explanations/Information page.
